The Y-axis represents the movie ratings and the X-axis stands for the year the movie was released.


The internet movie database, IMDB, is a website devoted to collecting movie data supplied by studios and fans. It claims to be the biggest movie database on the web and is run by amazon. The data represents four variables that include title, year, rating, and genre. With these parsed data points of 58,788 movies over a century there are particular trends and patterns that appears throughout each respective genre.

Film today is ubiquitous and filled with permutations of previous films and new outstanding films that will influence the industry. It is an ever evolving art form that will continue to be shaped by the people.
